ECO Girls is a project providing Environmental and Cultural Opportunities for Girls in urban Southeast Michigan, housed in the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Through engaging, educational activities on and off campus, ECO Girls emphasizes the interconnectedness of people and nature and reveals the worth, strength, and promise of every girl.

Camp Bluestem provides girls ages 10 to 13 (grades 4-7th) with a full schedule of field trips and hands-on activities to foster environmental awareness and stewardship, cultural education, self-confidence, and leadership skills. Some of these activities include: exploring the lakes of Michigan, writing and dance workshops, growing and cooking healthy food.

We are currently not accepting volunteer and counselor applications. Please check back with ECO Girls in the future for more news.
